Q: do you distance yourself from certain people due the assumption they may have “vested interests” in being your friend?
Sometimes. I think when it comes to the “dance world”, I definitely watch my back. I have a lot of experience with people using me for their own personal gain, and people don’t realize how aware I am of what’s going on around me. Sometimes I’m an idiot and give people the benefit of the doubt, but it usually bites me in the ass. You live and learn. But when it comes to outside of the “dance world”, I’m less cautious.
Q: how do you pick the people on fr3sh? is there any favoritism?
First, there is no favoritism.
Second, it depends on what team you’re talking about. Company, Juniors, and Freestyle all have their individual methods of selection, and we have different directors and advisors for each team that help make those selections. In general, we go through the audition process with each individual (collect information, learn choreography, perform in front of directors and advisors, etc.) and we base it on various criteria that pertains to the company they are auditioning for.
Q: you’re an inspiration to me. im a fellow dancer. ive been dancing for some time now…trying to fulfill a dream of creating a performing arts company. after seeing your success, I can honestly say you are one of my inspirations. keep doing what you’re doing, and forget the people who stand in your way. keep workin’ hah. not a question, but I felt like i wanted to say it haha
